Sprint @ VS

Sprint @ VS (Sports Performance, Research and INjury Treatment @ Victoria School) was formed to provide a center for sporting performance, research and rehabilitation for all student athletes in South East CDC. This initiative focuses on the development of three key areas contributing to sporting excellence:
  • Sports Performance and Excellence

SPRINT@VS will be used as a training space for specific sports related activities. The space will be versatile and used for the review of video footage as well as for conducting specialised workshops with regards to specific sports (i.e. sprinting techniques, agility and co-ordination drills, skill acquisition, etc.)This will allow us to film and track the movement patterns and bio-mechanic traits of various athletes across all sporting ranges. With our niche in Track and Field and Cross-country, this will allow our in-house PE teachers and coaches handling these events to provide specific performance feedback to student athletes in order to improve on their psycho-motor movement, efficiency and technique.
  • Research and Media Library

SPRINT@VS will be stocked with the latest publications, manuals and periodicals relevant to student athletes in Singapore. We also aim to provide media resources for coaches and athletes on training. An on-line database and loan system will be set-up to allow teachers and coaches to loan out videos, cd-roms, vcds, books, magazines, etc. that will be of use for training and development.
  • Injury Prevention, Rehabilitation and Therapy

SPRINT@VS will provide seminars and work-shops on injury prevention. Participants will be taught proper stretching techniques, introduced to basic knowledge of the anatomy, taught to identify safe/unsafe training practices.SPRINT@VS will also collaborate with professionals in sports massage and rehabilitation to provide sports massage and physiotherapy to student athletes free of charge or at a discounted rate.
